In the hand! Camera Obscura |
Ebooks too are special - we are living the dream. Authors and readers now arre at the pointy end of innovation in the book world. I doubt there was ever a time when more reading was done. Authors and publishers everywhere are staggered by the speed of innovation and change.
BeWrite Books have come up with a sophisticated cover for Camera Obscura. It is sleek: the lens shutter image seems to capture its focus, photography. The life of a photojournalist turned upside-down by the explosive entry into his life of a mysterious woman is explored through his actions in a unique adventure.
Stay with me as I ride the roller-coaster of this novel's first year. Perhaps you might catch a glimpse of what it means to be an author in the grip of the market's fickle movements. What it means to read the impressions of readers as they trickle in. What it means to have to return to the draft-pad... because surely, this is a cycle, and it's got to happen all over again.
Have a look at Camera Obscura, and let me know your initial impression, whether you are another author relating to all this, or a reader wondering what all the fuss is about.

I like the cover. And I know holding a book, esp your own, between your hands is quite a feeling. A remember feeling my first novel-- hard back-- between my hands and smelling the newness of it caused my adrenalin to race! Congratulations, Rosanne, and hope to read it soon. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove the cover, Rosanne! I've just now downloaded the novel to my Kindle and my mouth's watering to get a taste of it. Congratulations on the birth of another one!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lena and Stephen! Nothing equals the emotional see-saw an author experiences on the day a book comes out. I hope you both enjoy reading it.
ReplyDeleteLove the cover, Rosanne. It really attracts the eye. Hope to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteReading it now and loving it.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you want to browse *Camera Obscura* (virtually) the old fashioned way, there's a free 31-page mini-book here: http://www.bewritebooks.com/mb/CameraObscura/CameraObscura.html.
ReplyDeleteIt includes book notes, reviews, author biography and picture, and a generous extract.
Give it five seconds or so to download. For the full effect, close the contents box in the left margin and go to 'full screen'. Just for fun, switch on your sounds and you'll even hear the pages turn.
Good luck with a superb piece of work, Rosanne. Best Wishes. Neil
There's nothing better than holding a physical book in your hand, Rosanne, I agree. Especially when it's your own! My latest release is an ebook only, maybe print at a later date, and although release date is exciting, it doesn't quite bring the same euphoria. And you don't get to open that parcel of your author copies. I love the idea of those jigsaw pieces gradually revealing your cover. Very clever. Have my copy of CO to read and looking forward to dipping in.
